Prince Edward County Public Schools Superintendent Search (Opens November 18, 2024)
The County
In 1754, Prince Edward County was founded in southern Virginia. Today, it stands as the crossroads of the closing days of the American Civil War and the birthplace of America’s fight for civil rights in education. Prince Edward County Public Schools serves a total of 1,930 students.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To be appointed as a superintendent in VIRGINIA, one must be listed on the “Eligible List of Division Superintendents” approved by the Virginia Board of Education. The Board of Education only meets eight or nine times per year which can cause delays in processing the applications for licensure.
