Virginia School Boards Association President Makes
Roadshow Stop at Isle of Wight County Public Schools
Charlottesville, VA – Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) President, Dr. Cardell Patillo, will make his next stop on the President’s Roadshow to Isle of Wight County Public Schools (IWCS) on Thursday, April 25, 2024. During his visit, Dr. Patillo will also be joined by staff of the Virginia Department of Education and members of the VSBA Board of Directors. The visit will highlight educational programs and student achievements in IWCS.
Dr. Patillo’s tour of the IWCS Agricultural Land Lab will provide a firsthand look at the innovative educational opportunities offered to students in Isle of Wight County. Agricultural students will lead the tour, showcasing their learning experiences and the practical applications of agricultural science.
As part of the visit, students from the IWCS Culinary Arts program will prepare refreshments using locally sourced ingredients. These culinary creations will not only demonstrate the talents of IWCS students but will also promote the importance of supporting local agriculture and sustainable food practices.
“I am thrilled to visit Isle of Wight County Public Schools and witness firsthand the innovative educational initiatives taking place in the school division,” stated Dr. Patillo. “I am also grateful to share this experience with staff of the Virginia Department of Education and my fellow members of the VSBA Board of Directors. It will be inspiring to see students engaged in hands on learning experiences that prepare them for success in college, career, and beyond. I am honored to have the opportunity to engage with students and educators during this visit.”
This will be the eighth stop on the VSBA President’s Roadshow. Virginia school boards are encouraged to contact VSBA to be considered for a stop on the Roadshow.
