Virginia School Boards Association President Made Roadshow
Stop at Page County Public Schools

Charlottesville, VA – Yesterday, August 14, 2024, Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) President, Dr. Cardell Patillo, made his next stop on the President’s Roadshow with a visit to Page County Public Schools. Dr. Patillo attended the school division’s 2024 Convocation event that kicked off the school year for division staff.

This year’s event celebrated academic gains made at all schools, as well as the significant reduction in chronic absenteeism across the division. During the Convocation, the school division also recognized their teachers of the year, support staff members of the year, and transportation department employees of the year.

While in attendance, Dr. Patillo had the opportunity to participate in the celebration with the division’s educators, staff, and school board members. This gave him the chance to gain a first-hand perspective on the school division’s goals and achievements.

“It was an honor to attend the Page County Public Schools’ Convocation,” stated Dr. Patillo, “celebrating the dedication and achievements of our educators and staff is crucial as we embark on a new school year. The school division’s theme for the year, Positive Pathways, is a powerful reminder of the impact we can have on the lives of our students by fostering a supportive and positive environment.”

This was the 17th stop on the VSBA President’s Roadshow. Virginia school boards are encouraged to contact VSBA to be considered for a stop on the Roadshow.
