As we transition into the spring season, I hope you’re all feeling rejuvenated and optimistic. It’s a time of growth and renewal, both in nature and within our school divisions.
I’d like to remind you that April is Workforce Readiness Month here at VSBA. Though we’re already halfway through, there’s still plenty of opportunity to celebrate the progress we’ve made in preparing our students for life beyond the classroom.
Workforce readiness is a significant focus for us – it’s about ensuring our students have the skills they need to thrive after high schools. Whether it’s acquiring essential skills or exploring diverse career paths, our efforts this month and beyond are essential for setting up the next generation for success.
As we continue to embrace the spirit of spring and the momentum of Workforce Readiness Month, I encourage each of you to take advantage of the opportunities this initiative presents. Your dedication and innovation are crucial as we work together to empower our students to reach their full potential.
On another note, I’ve had the privilege of visiting Caroline County and Fredericksburg City as part of the President’s Roadshow. It’s been inspiring to see their schools and connect with their communities. Next, I’ll be visiting Isle of Wight County and Wise County later this month. If your school division is interested in being part of the Roadshow, whether during a school board meeting or for a tour of your facilities, please reach out to Samantha Bosserman, at samantha@vsba.org
Thank you for your continued dedication to VSBA’s mission. Let’s keep working together to support our students and build brighter future for Virginia’s educational community.
Warm regards,
Dr. Cardell Patillo, Jr.
VSBA President
