2025 VSBA Food For Thought Competition

Get ready for a fresh, impactful approach to this year’s VSBA Food for Thought Competition! We are thrilled to unveil a NEW format designed to shine a brighter spotlight on the incredible efforts of school divisions in the fight against food insecurity.

This year, we’re zeroing in on one crucial mission: Meal Access to Fight Hunger! By streamlining the competition into three focused subcategories, we aim to highlight the most effective and innovative programs and initiatives making a difference:

  • Breakfast Programs
  • Afterschool Meal Programs
  • Mental Health and Nutrition Initiatives

What’s New?
– A sharper focus on impactful programs.
– A chance to showcase your division’s best efforts in a more meaningful way.
– A platform to elevate the fight against childhood hunger in Virginia!

If your school division was recognized as a winner in previous years, you may not submit the same program/initiative this year.
