Virginia School Boards Association President to visit Fairfax County Public
Schools on Final Stop on the VSBA President’s Roadshow
Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) is excited to announce that Dr. Cardell Patillo, VSBA president, will complete his 25th stop on the President’s Roadshow in Fairfax County Public Schools. This final visit on November 14, 2024, marks a significant milestone in Dr. Patillo’s statewide tour, which was launched to connect with school divisions, celebrate achievements, and emphasize the importance of public education across Virginia.
During his visit to Fairfax County, Dr. Patillo will attend a reception hosted by the school division, celebrating Fairfax County’s Purple Heart Schools, which honor and recognize the sacrifices of military families. The reception, organized in partnership with local officials and community members, reflects Fairfax County Public Schools’ commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families. Following the reception, Dr. Patillo will attend the school division’s school board meeting, where he will address the board members, commending them for their dedication and hard work in advancing public education in Virginia.
Reflecting on his journey across Virginia, Dr. Patillo expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended by each school division on his tour. “I am deeply grateful to Fairfax County Public Schools for hosting me at the final stop of this incredible journey,” stated Dr. Patillo. “Their commitment to supporting military-connected students and their families is inspiring and a reminder of the lasting impact of our schools. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the school divisions that welcomed me throughout the year. I feel truly privileged to have met so many wonderful people and witnessed firsthand the outstanding opportunities our school divisions are creating for students across the Commonwealth.”
The VSBA President’s Roadshow has highlighted the exceptional work of Virginia’s public schools, creating a platform for sharing stories of student achievement, innovative programs, and strong community partnerships.
