Greensville County School Governance Team Earns
VSBA Master Board Designation
Charlottesville, VA – The Governance Team of Greensville County Public Schools was honored today with the prestigious Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) Master Board designation. Their journey to this achievement began in July and concluded October 31, 2024, encompassing four sessions and over 25 hours of professional development. These sessions, led by the Virginia School Boards Association staff, emphasized team building, effective communication, active listening, and fostering board-building behaviors.
School Board Chair Rustin Jessee conveyed his appreciation, stating, “I am deeply grateful to my fellow board members and our Superintendent, Dr. Kelvin Edwards. Their tireless dedication has led us to earn the Master Board designation. This achievement reflects our entire division’s unwavering commitment to student success in Greensville County Public Schools.”
VSBA Executive Director Gina Patterson added, “Achieving the Master Board status demands dedication, energy, and a profound comprehension of sound board governance. I am happy to congratulate the Greensville County Governance Team on this outstanding achievement.”
The VSBA provides tailored professional development and training sessions for school boards throughout Virginia. These sessions are customized to address the specific needs of each school board governance team. The VSBA Master Board Training Program steers both school boards and superintendents through a variety of activities and modules. These encompass personality assessments, team-building exercises, and discussions centered on team formation and the many facets of communication.
