Virginia School Boards Association President Makes
Roadshow Stop at Wise County Public Schools

Charlottesville, VA –Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) President, Dr. Cardell Patillo, made his next stop on the President’s Roadshow with a visit to Wise County Public Schools, on Tuesday, April 30. Dr. Patillo’s visit underscored the commitment of the VSBA to engage with local school divisions across the Commonwealth and support their endeavors in fostering educational success.

During his visit, Dr. Patillo had the opportunity to tour Wise Primary School, L.F. Addington Middle School, and Central High School. After lunch, the tour continued to the school division’s Career-Technical Center where he had the opportunity to learn more about the programs the center has to offer. Throughout the tour, he was able to gain valuable insights into the innovative educational practices and initiatives being implemented to enhance student learning and success. Witnessing firsthand the dedication of educators and the vibrant learning environments cultivated within the schools, Dr. Patillo was impressed by the dedication and passion evident throughout the division.

“Thank you to Wise County Public Schools for hosting an extremely productive and thought-providing day as we visited your school facilities,” stated Dr. Patillo. “It was truly inspiring to witness the commitment of the educators, administrators, and school board members to ensuring the success of every student. I am thankful to have these dedicated individuals included in the effort to provide a brighter future for all students across the Commonwealth.”

Prior to his visit in Wise County, Dr. Patillo attended an event with school board leadership from across the VSBA Southwest Region. The event Monday evening, organized by VSBA Southwest Region Chair Jennifer Nichols, gave Dr. Patillo the opportunity to connect with school board leadership across the region to learn more about their school division’s challenges and successes.

This was the ninth stop on the VSBA President’s Roadshow. Virginia school boards are encouraged to contact VSBA to be considered for a stop on the Roadshow.
