May 25, 2022 – Today, we mourn the lost lives of 18 children and one teacher at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas – all victims of yet another unthinkable school shooting. Their lives, hopes, and dreams have been taken from us.

As members of the education community, we grieve the loss of these young people. We know that no amount of sorrow can make up for the lives lost yesterday. And we know that no words can ease the unbearable pain felt by the parents, family members, colleagues, and friends of these innocent school shooting victims.

As school board members, our first instincts are always to protect the children in our schools. That is why we mourn so deeply yesterday’s tragic events. Our leaders in education, government, business, healthcare, and other industries must come together to solve this problem. We stand ready to be part of these discussions.
